Historic Vehicles Do Not Exist in Technical Isolation

A key aim for historic vehicle owners is, among other things, to pass on cultural heritage in a physical form to future generations, while safeguarding a vehicle’s current use and respecting its social and spiritual importance, thereby protecting its intangible aspects. To achieve these goals, we implement measures and activities that are the result of an all-encompassing interdisciplinary decision-making process: documentation and research (historical, artistic, scientific and technical), as well as taking into account the past, the present and the future contexts of the subject. Encouraging people to ‘allow’ themselves to experience this heritage in a reasonable and responsible manner stems from a concern for maintaining an historic vehicle’s contribution to scientific and general human value, as something that previous generations have created and preserved, and that can today be recognized as part of the world’s technical heritage.
